So there I was last week – attending a meeting with colleagues and others, many with impressive titles and backgrounds, certainly more impressive than yours truly.
Knowing the business but still not connecting the dots, I puzzled at attending said meeting.
But as I listened and took notes, I found myself leaning in, participating and nodding in agreement.
I watched another leaning away, slipping out and shaking his head.
At the last minute the presentation he planned to give was punted to me – the one I’d written and researched.
It was then that I saw it.
Bluster and blather will only carry you so far ~ and sometimes the one needed at the table is the one who knows the fluff from the floor.
